Baptism is an important step in being a disciple of Jesus: it marks the transition from a growing interest and trust in Jesus to a deeper commitment of obedience to Jesus’ own instructions. In baptism we follow in Jesus’ own footsteps, going down into the waters of chaos and death, and rising up into the new life of resurrection: leaving behind the old, and taking on the new through the gift of the Holy Spirit – the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. Jesus made a way from death to life, and calls us into his pattern of life through baptism.
We invite you to consider baptism this Easter. We will be having a breakfast baptism class before the service during which we will walk through Christian faith and belief, the meaning of baptism, and how the pattern of baptism shapes our Christian life. Please RSVP below. Baptism’s will be held on Easter Sunday.
