Ephesians 1: 3-14

In this message we focus on the theme of predestination, what some call the doctrine of election. We focus on this theme because of the Apostle Paul’s statement, “for he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will – to the praise of his glorious grace” (Eph. 1:4-6).

John Calvin, the French Protestant reformer once said that “everything done in the world is according to his decree, declare that the things which seem most fortuitous are subject to him. For what seems more attributable to chance than the branch which falls from a tree, and kills the passing traveller? But the Lord sees very differently, and declares that He delivered him into the hand of the slayer.”

This line of reasoning can leave us with many troubling questions. In this message Pastor Daniel explores with us the theme of predestination and election through the scriptures.
