This message marks the start of Advent. Over the Advent season, we will be exploring the themes of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love through accounts from Jesus’ life. This message serves like a bridge from our series on Jonah into the Advent season.
In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus self-identifies with Jonah’s story when he says, “for just as Jonah was there days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” In this message we explore how Jesus is the true and better Jonah. The true prophet who gladly comes to restore a broken and heal broken humanity.
